History/Overview
Canadian Prairie section of AACCI is an active section centered in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Winnipeg is the main center for cereal chemistry research in Canada. Cereal science research programs, both of an applied and a fundamental nature, are being carried out in the Grain Research Laboratory of the Canadian Grain Commission, in the Canadian International Grains Institute, in the Cereal Research Centre of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, and in the Departments of Foods and Nutrition, Plant Science and Food Science at the University of Manitoba. Members are drawn from these organizations, as well as from the Canadian Wheat Board, the Food Development Centre and local cereals processing companies.
Membership
The section maintains a distribution list of over 120 local cereal chemistry professionals from academics, government, and industry.
